President's Message

Welcome to the 2006/07 PAC Swim and Dive Team

Once again we embark upon another season of swimming and diving in the competitive SAL league. We are looking forward to another fun and action packed year!

Our Board of Officers for 2006 – 2007 are as follows:

President - John Perdoch
Vice president - Bruno Ciarelli
Secretary - Fran Wiser
Treasurer - Lori Eisner
Business Manager - Sally Young
Past President - Gayle Gould
Head Coach - Dave Schmidt

As usual we are going to rely on some other important positions in our organization. Diane Rice is going to serve as the Girls Meet Director and Cathy Jeronis will similar serve the boy’s team.

Madeline Bayliss continues on as Splash Director, but could use a co-director this year. The goal of the co-director would be to eventually assume the lead as Splash Director, allowing Madeline to pursue other opportunities.

If anyone is interested in being involved in the PAC Splash event or other key positions within the group, please contact me at 215 321-2330.

Coaching

Dave Schmidt returns as Head Coach. Returning with Dave will be Jill Schieren, Jason Clark, Sam McDonough, Laura Irwin, Beth White, Kitty Fitch, Kristen Poinsett, Keith Pokrzywa, Lee Swanson and Brett Hunger.  Please also welcome Andy Newhall who swam for PAC through high school and is now joining our coaching staff for the 2006/07 season.  We also welcome back Katie Welsh who has returned to the area.

Safety

Safety is very important to all of us. If you have a child practicing in the evening please insure they he/she has proper and timely transportation to and most importantly from the pools.

Commitment

If the PAC organization is to succeed we will need the commitment of our swimmers and divers to attend scheduled practices each week and the dual meets usually occurring on Saturday’s.

PAC will also only succeed with the involvement and help of our parents. There are many different jobs to work at each event and we ask that each family sign up to work a minimum of 5 meets. We truly count on parent’s participation. No job is too difficult.

Finally, our annual fundraiser for PAC is the Splash Meet. This year splash will take place on Sunday, January 14. Please reserve that date for your swimmer and selves so that we continue to make this a wonderful event.

The SAL provides a great avenue for children to compete in the sport of swimming and diving. It is of utmost importance that we combine (and stress), the spirits of competition and camaraderie for all our participants, so that everybody’s involvement and experience this year harnesses a sense of accomplishment.

I am open to any suggestions you feel will make this season a success. If you have any ideas please do not hesitate to talk with me.

PAC President
